Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
Messages and settings
MarqueeDeck processes the message you enter only to create the display you request. The app stores the current message and display settings, up to 20 favorite messages, and up to 10 recent messages in Android local app storage using SharedPreferences. Saved settings can include display mode, direction, speed, text size, weight, letter spacing, text color, background color, and per-message brightness.
This content is not uploaded, synchronized, sold, or shared. Recent entries rotate out when the local limit is reached.
Storage security
Saved content is stored in Android app-private storage (MODE_PRIVATE), which is isolated from ordinary access by other apps. Cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for MarqueeDeck's SharedPreferences. MarqueeDeck has no network permission or third-party SDK that can transmit this content.
Display and brightness
While the immersive display is visible, MarqueeDeck may keep the screen awake and apply the brightness chosen for that message to the app window. These behaviors apply only to the active display. When the display closes, the app restores normal system brightness behavior and does not change the device's permanent brightness setting.
Keyboard boundary
Text entry uses Android's system input method. MarqueeDeck receives only the message entered into its text field and does not read unrelated keyboard activity. Android and the active keyboard are separate software and may process what you type according to their own settings and privacy policies.
Network, accounts, advertising, and third parties
- No network access, account, sign-in, cloud sync, or content upload
- No advertising, in-app purchase, subscription, analytics, tracking, or account SDK
- No access to location, contacts, photos, user-selected or shared files, camera, microphone, phone, messages, or advertising identifiers
- No cookies, telemetry, cross-app tracking, or sale of personal information
Retention and deletion
Messages and settings remain only in MarqueeDeck's local app storage until they rotate out under the limits above or the local storage is erased. You can delete all locally stored MarqueeDeck data by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app. Because MarqueeDeck has no account and receives no data on a server, there is no server-side profile or cloud copy to delete.
Children's privacy
MarqueeDeck is a general display utility and is not directed primarily at children. It does not knowingly collect information from children or from any other users.
Changes to this policy
If MarqueeDeck's data practices change, Catnap will update this policy and the Google Play Data Safety declaration before releasing the changed behavior. The effective date at the top identifies the current policy version.
